Why is it not working - what am I missing?

To all my colleagues small business owners, I hear you! We’ve all been there! You’ve been working hard to make things happen, hustling, but sometimes things just don’t seem to click. And then you start wondering, what am I missing?

When it comes to success, it turns out it’s 95% mindset and 5% strategy. Mindset is beyond having a positive attitude…

1. Start with a clear goal and it shouldn’t be any type of goal, it should be a goal that truly inspires you, that excites you, that gets you out of bed in the morning, and that will drive you to keep going in spite of challenges and set-backs. So what goal have you set for your business?

2. What are your thought patterns and behaviors? 96-98% of what we think and do is subconscious, meaning we think and do the same things every day! If we want different results, we need to change our thoughts and habitual behaviors. Take a look at your current thought patterns (that may require a bit of digging as there may be some limiting beliefs, deep rooted beliefs of lack, etc…) and take a look at your habits: Are they conducive to you achieving your goals?

3. Be in the spirit of your goal. This is so important! You must be able to see yourself there. For that to happen you first need to have a clear vision and you need to start thinking, acting, feeling, selling and making decisions as if you had already accomplished your goal. If you keep making decisions from your present circumstances, nothing will change. You need to get on the frequency of your goal. You must learn to live from the end if you want circumstances to change. Circumstances are influenced by your predominant thoughts and feelings (or vibration). For that reason, you need to learn to live in your imagination. Napoleon Hill said that imagination is the most powerful force ever known. “It has been said that man can create anything which he can imagine.” “Man’s only limitation, within reason, lies in his development and use of his imagination.” In order to be in the spirt of your goal, I recommend you ask yourself these questions: Who am I trying to become? What are the habits of that person? How do they think and make decisions? This leads me to my last point.

4. Upgrade your self-image. Unless and until you change your self-image, this will hold you back. You can never outperform your self-image. Your self-image is like a thermostat that will bring you back to your old self, your old habits, etc… So who are you trying to become? You must first become that person before you can create the results you want.

To conclude, it’s rarely about trying harder or testing out one more strategy. It’s all about changing you, changing your inside and getting in the spirit of your goal, getting in harmony with your goal, getting on the frequency of your goal. In many cases, you could do the same actions you are doing today, but if you only shifted the energy and spirit you put behind it, you would see very different results. In fact, in the Science of Getting Rich (by Wallace D Wattles), Bob Proctor recounts two salesmen who are both selling the same product at the same price in the same market place, yet one is selling 25 times more than the other. Why? One is operating by law, the other is not. It’s all about being in the spirit of your goal. The universe not only responds to your actions but also to the vibration behind your actions. So ask yourself: What energy am I putting behind my actions? Am I making decisions or taking action based on my current circumstances or am I coming from my goal?
